World Bipolar Day 2024

What is World Bipolar Day and why is it celebrated on the 30th of March every year?

World Bipolar Day is an annual event that takes place on March 30th every year. This day is dedicated to raising awareness about bipolar disorder, a mental health condition that affects millions of people worldwide. The date was chosen to coincide with the birthday of Vincent Van Gogh, a famous Dutch artist who was posthumously diagnosed with bipolar disorder. This diagnosis was made through semi-structured diagnostic interviews with art historians who were very familiar with the artist's work and lifestyle (Nolen et al., 2020).
